Data and Voice Drops Required

Note: The numbers of lines with VCH data/voice drops should be configured to meet the short term and potentially long term needs for the organization.  The Data/voice team will advise us on a layout that will work best in the combined space area; one that will provide the most flexibility as the organization grows and moves workstations.

 

All offices should meet the VCH standards.

 

Over time the organization anticipates needing up to two workstations in all offices except the smallest one (office # 6 beside the copy room). Therefore the numbers of installations are as follows:

 

  • 2 drops in the meeting room
  • 1 drop in the kitchen
  • 3 in the main reception area
  • 5 drops in the EGADSS room  (Area 1)
  • 10 drops =5 offices with 2 drops
  • 1 office with 1 drop (office 6)
  • 1 drop in the fax/copier room
  • 2 drops in the Server room

 

A drop will be required in the server room to accommodate the EGADSS ADSL line.  Telus will install the EGADSS ADSL line at the Demark Point = 2nd floor electrical room of Echelon 2E 555 West 8th Avenue.  The VCH Tech team will need to connect the line to the office server room.
